POST 5
|
 |
In
Post 5 I will document the installation and rough shaping of
the bindings and end graft. But first a very exciting event
for me. Alex Leist took the pick guard, that will go on this
guitar, and asked Jimmy Buffett to sign it. I just received
the pick guard from Alex in the mail today. I wanted to start
this post with a picture of the pick guard sitting on the unfinished
guitar body. |
 |
The
bindings are glued into the channels cut in Post 4. The jig
below allows me to put pressure on the bindings while the glue
drys. The bindings are then scraped and rough sanded. |
 |
Several
pictures of the results are presented. They all show the guitar
after rough sanding. I will finish sand before I spray the final
finish on the guitar. |

 |
A
mortise for the neck tenon is cut in the heel of the guitar
after the bindings are rough sanded. |
 |
|
That
concludes the 5th post. In POST 6 I will start the neck construction.
Thanks for watching and remember to email me if you have questions
or comments. Thanks - mdg
